Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia— This month, Spectrum Education’s 9th-grade student changes her hat into "Ms. Wang." She embarked on a unique journey to teach art at a refugee school in Malaysia. As the school’s first high school volunteer teacher, Ms. Wang brought five full sessions of art lessons each day, providing students with an inspiring and engaging artistic experience, as well as companionship and care.

Unlike traditional "voluntourism" programs, Spectrum Education’s team discovered this school’s need for support online. Ms. Wang spent two to three months communicating with the school’s staff, designing lesson plans, and preparing materials. This dedication and effort culminated in a rewarding partnership and invaluable friendship. For Ms. Wang, this experience offered profound personal growth, while her students gained warmth and encouragement from a supportive figure beyond borders.
